Benedetti-Sagmoen-Grauer-Alcazar Pitch Combined No-Hitter. Mudville Pitching Staff and Offense Output Pace Pinnacle to Two 11-0 Victories on the Same Day!

Union City, CA – The Mudville Pitching Staff threw a combined no-hitter and 1-hitter in today’s doubleheader at James Logan HS in Union City.  Pinnacle (44-27, 2-0) has thrown six (6) no-hitters and four (4) 1-hitters this season.

Manager and Pitching Coach Kurt Boyd credits the Muddie catching corps, and great defensive support that accompanies these pitching gems.  Both games, 11-0 victories in 5-innings, were pitched by six different pitchers to save pitching workload for a potential championship run on Sunday.  In Game #1 against the Oakland Baseball Club, Riley Benedetti garnered the start and the win, followed by Jordan Sagmoen, Riley Grauer and Chris Alcazar.  Game Two’s 1-hitter featured starter and game winner Doug Knight and Ryan Gayte. The only hit, an infield single occurred in the 2nd inning with two outs.

Boyd said, “our pitchers and catchers have been working hard since the beginning of November’s off season conditioning – the staff is committed as one unit, pulling for each other throughout the season.  Mentally tough, they all have each other’s’ back; they have been a great staff to mentor this season!”
