Mudville Pinnacle Leaps to 3-0 Record at CABA West National Championships Pool Play – Healean Tosses Complete Game Three-Hitter with 14Ks!

Union City, CA – Making his last start in his 2-year Mudville career, Redlands University-bound RHP Andrew Helean carried his team though the pivotal pool game against San Mateo’s Game Day Prep, 6-0. Falling nothing but short of dominatance, Andrew’s CG, 3-hit, 14 K game performance were the most strikeouts thrown by a Mudville pitcher this season. He walked only one batter.

The game was much closer as the final score appears. Mudville, up 1-0 with one out in the top of the seventh struck for five runs to extend the lead for good. The 6-0 victory guaranteed at least a 3-seed in the championship single elimination playoffs on Sunday. The Muddies match-up against the other Washington State berth winner, Vancouver’s Champions Baseball, also 3-0, for a pivotal #1, or #3 seeding in Sunday’s playoffs. The NorCal Arsenal are 4-0 and are guaranteed one of the top two seeds. The first and second seed are awarded a game bye, saving a potential third game in 90+ degree weather.
